Get and Give

I love comments on my blog. I'll admit that when I write a post and it gets no comments, I wonder if anyone is even reading it. Or if they just think I'm super lame. I get kind of bummed if I think I write something funny (yes, I laugh at my own writing) and no one comments. As a blog reader, I am not very good at commenting either. I blame laziness. I read blogs through Google Reader and although it would take less than a minute to click over to the blog, leave a comment and hit post, I just don't do it very often. When reading articles about how to get more traffic to your blog, the number one thing people suggest it to comment on other blogs. The blogging community, while vast, is a tight one. I believe bloggers want to support each other. While some women (and men) blog for HUGE audiences, I believe that mom and pop shop blogs like this one still have a place for readers. I am going to start making an effort to click click click, type type type and get myself "out there" on more blogs. I can't expect people to leave me comments if I'm not commenting myself. So dear readers, do you have a blog? Share it with me and I'll come over and check it out!

I feel the same way. Sometimes I want to leave a comment then don't for the same reason.
I have two blogs, mostly baby related but trying to get one only 1/2 baby related...

I always read on my BlackBerry and think "I have to go back later and comment" and then always forget :) But I read them! I have two blogs - a baking blog and a "family blog" for our friends and family far away to keep up on our fairly uneventful life :)

I only comment on peoples' blogs that comment on mine. :) It feels nice to have your own little micro community where you read peoples' blogs and know they're reading yours, too you know? I don't comment a lot on a lot of blogs but I do like to peek in once in a while to peoples' blogs that I know read mine and just leave a comment. :)

I also love getting blog comments! At first I was intimidated about commenting on other people's blogs, but once I started doing it and they started commenting on my blog it got easier. It's nice to get comments from others and not just my best friend! hehe :-)

Hi Michelle! I love your blog. I'm not always great at leaving comments either, but I promise I read every word. Keep up the great work!

I am right there with you. I have found some new blogs by people commenting on mine. You would think that would prompt me to comment more.
I do read your blog regularly...just wanted to let you know that. :)

I am totally with you! I read on my phone, and it can be a pain in the butt to comment. I love to read, but sometimes I'm afraid I'll be seen as a weirdo stalker if I comment too much. I want to make an effort to comment more (and you're right, it feels good to get the comments). Thank you for saying what I'm always thinking.

I just found your blog, but I really like your TTC Tuesday. I've also been struggling with infertility and it's nice to know I'm not alone.

i don't have a blog.
but i always try to comment, because i know how bloggers love to receive comments :)

side note. when i comment on a blogger and they reply to my post it makes me feel special too. i read a blog, and i'm not even kidding you he usually has 60+ comments and he replies to every.single.one. it's cool, because it makes you feel like they appreciate your input :)
