#WEverb11 #5 and #6

Did you meet any new friends this year? How did they impact your 2011?

Being somewhat of a homebody doesn't give me many chances to make new friends. Through our Sunday Softball league, I was able to meet new people and became very fond of the people on my team.  What a great group of people!

Many of my existing friendships grew as well. I'm constantly reminded of what great friends I have. We may not see each other regularly or even talk on the phone often but when we do connect, I'm so happy with the people I choose to let into my life. Free of drama. Smart, intelligent people. Caring, loving and always there to lend an ear. Kind. Funny. They wrapped me in happiness and warmth when I most needed it and I look forward to watching these friendships expand for years to come.

What was your favorite month of 2011? Why did it beat out all other 11 months?

July. July was my favorite month this year. July was the month that my husband ended his long night shift work. I finally was able to stay up past the sun setting because I am a wimp and went to bed when the sun was still out due to my fear of burglars. Being home alone at night SUCKED and having him back to a normal schedule was fantastic.

July was also awesome because we went to Washington D.C. and New York. This was such a fun trip! We have so many great memories from that week and I feel so blessed that we were able to go. The main reason for this trip was to live our lives after going through 4 failed fertility treatments in a 5 month period. The waiting, the heartbreak and disappointment was too much and I felt like my life was on hold. Planning (postponing and rescheduling) the trip was a good distraction and gave me something to look forward to. My memories of the first 4 months of this year are dark. There was only a four week period between December 31 and April that we weren't consumed with doctor appointments, shots, drugs and tests. All turned out to be negative. I needed something positive and July was the answer.
